The OP says it will take years. Based on my experience with other cars, I expect mine to take, once I have 95% of everything together, a month. 3 weeks to build, then a week waiting for the last-minute parts orders to arrive, and installing them. At that point it should be driveable. Of course after a week of driving there may be changes like gearing, spring rates, or who knows what. That's inevitable, but not part of the build.
But without that follow-up dialing it in, the car will never be all you hoped.

I can't tell the context of your comments above, but I about shot a drink through my nose when I read the highlighted part above. Unless you're kidding, you have a big life lesson heading your way!

In regards to Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as 250, what (or where) is the new edition of Ron Champion’s book that is mentioned? I can find only the 1st and 2nd editions.
