I have found a sv 1000 engine for a good price. It will be going in my Amod car. Has anyone used one in a car before. I have tryed to find a dry-sump for it but had no luck. I may have to make my own. It will be about double the HP and torque over the 600 I have now. Chad

What 600 do you have now?

It is a 93 GSXR 600. It was kind of a pig back then and even more so now.Suzuki de-bored and stroked the 1100 and made the 750 and 600. It was rated at 80hp and 37 flbs. The sv is rated at 120hp and 75 flbs. It would be a big boost on a 900lbs car. my big concern is oiling. Some bike engines don't like being put in a car. Mine has done real good. I haven't had any problems. A guy in Knoxville used a ZX14 in his car and it only lasted a few races. He wasn't using R-comps either. My g-loads will be much higher than his. If I take the money and time to convert it over I want it to last. Chad

Not surprising, not many radical, stupidly overpriced speciality vehicles make it in the market.

Should have been a $5000 kit for what it is, not a $50,000 kit.

What are the dimensions for this engine (overall L/W/H)

I haven't picked it up yet. I do know it is narrower than the engine i have now. Chad

I just remembered that Honda themselves built some V-Twin single seat sidewinder race cars specific to the race track they own in Japan (Motegi), I'm sure you can find them with that info.

No experience them other than on 2 wheels...

I've got a 2003 SV650S. Great all around bike, especially for commuting / track days with the typical basic upgrades..

73.4 hp / 47.2 lb ft

It's a lot of fun not having to downshift to easily overtake traffic while the guy you're riding with has to kick it down a gear or 2 to accomplish the same.

Not mind bogglingly fast by any means, but solid predictable torque all through the revs.

I see that it's an accumulator/reservoir, so it depends on the oil pumping rate and how long the corner lasts.

May very well be a viable option to going into the crank cavity and putting a baffle in.
