Interesting electric crate motor and drivetrain that could work in a mid-engined Locost. Same unit Swindon Powertrain uses in their Mini conversions.

At 110 hp and 154 lbs not super powerful but pretty light. With instant torque in a light weight chassis with the right final drive ratio and battery pack, could be fun.

Have to wait until at least June 2020 for the crate version, though.

Whatever you want - it doesn't include the battery pack.

My suspicion is that'll it'll be expensive enough that by the time it comes to market, it may make sense to consider a used Tesla drivetrain. There are already places that sell parts, such as EV West, https://evwest.com/catalog/

Jalopnik speculates it’ll be able to be adapted to work with battery packs from Leafs or Bolts or Teslas or whatever you can find in your local junkyards.

The drivetrain package should leave lots of room for batteries as the drivetrain measures 23.6 inches wide, 17.3 inches deep, and only 11.02 inches tall. And per Swindon: "Multiple mounting points and flexibility for inverter and cooling pack locations will enable it to fit a range of vehicles from sports car through to commercial vehicles while waterproofing options makes it suitable off-road leisure and recreation vehicles."

More options and pre-packaged solutions are a good thing. Nice to see the manufacturers stepping up to the home builder.

There is also a self-contained EV conversion 'crate motor' from Electric GT that has a form-factor I could see becoming a trendy option for the muscle car crowd.
