( I posted this on Locost North America but still have not found an alternator.)
If anyone were to tell me I couldn't fine an alternator for my 1.8
Zetec with a Westfield mount I would tell them they were crazy. Well
after looking on and off for the past 6 months I give up. I can find
one in Europe but the ridiculous prices plus $100 freight burns me
up.
Does anyone know where I can find a Lucas LRB00172 alternator or a
cross referenced one below?

I don't want to fabricate another mount since I already have a $200
Westfield one. This is a brand new car and power train. I want a new alternator that will fit the mount and plug into the existing Westfield wiring harness without any cobbling up of the wiring or the mount.
Thanks to all for any help

10x, I noticed a lot of UK builders use Westfield parts for conversions and other 7-type vehicles. From what I can tell the alternators sourced from donor 1.8 and 2.0 zetec engines are the same. In either case I would try asking over at the usa7s.com forum (if you haven't already) or contact a Caterham dealer. Hope you find one, good luck.
