That Canadian cold front that has been giving everyone up north such grief has finally reached Texas. This is the view from my back door towards the shop this morning.

Of course to us it looks like this.

And here's our weather forecast for today.

I got up at 7:00 and started a big pot of chili. You simply cannot be over prepared for what looks like the end of the world.

I had to visit a supplier in Canada last week. Tuesday morning -26 degrees F and several FEET of snow on the ground. Nice clear roads though.

None of what you said made any sense at all. You must be speaking Canadian cause you sure aren't talking Texan!

Or Floridian for that matter is he JD?

Didn't make sense to me while I was there either. Locals were like; It's a little chilly today, A?

Here's the forecast today from the Dallas Morning News.

"Monday's forecast: Monday has been canceled. Go back to bed. If you haven't already heard, it's going to be in the 20s all day, with a wintry mix and strong winds from the north. The weather forecasters on TV are using words like "impossible" and "very hazardous" to describe the road conditions they expect today."

Course that's them pansies over in Dallas, not us rough and tough westerners over in Fort Worth.

Frozen mix in the forecast for here tonight. High today was just after midnight.
The rain vs freeze line will be somewhere within a few miles of my place. A couple miles closer to the ocean = rain; inland= sleet and freezing rain.

:ack:

You're welcome, guys. Glad to have it sent your way. No charge, btw.
Here in Lotus Land, spring has arrived a couple of months early. Wife was doing yard work yesterday, while baby daughter and I were skiing in shirtsleeves. Although, I'd like some of that snow on our hills. The skiing is getting quite marginal, but I don't need it in the driveway anymore. A tough winter is when you put more hours on the snow blower than on the dirt bike. :ack:

WAIT! You said snow, skiing and spring all in the same sentence!

I'd sure hate to live anywhere you had to use those words together.

And if you'd like the weather back we'd be more than happy to send it your direction.

That has to be a photoshop, although if it were real the girls must feel pretty safe. No guy in his right mind would drop his trousers in the cold. That'd be embarrassing.

Here's a REAL winter picture that represents where I is.

this is what things look like in Duxbury MA. Snow is still roughly 4 feet deep. Ice on top. If you break through there is an another ice layer at just past knee deep. If you break through that one too, then you are in up to your waist and have to sort of wiggle out on to your stomach and crawl to a place where you can try to stand.
We were away on vacation last week in Belize...good break. Came back to water pouring into the house due to ice dams that built up when I wasnt there to keep them knocked down. Lots damage on first two levels...only damage in basement is where a tiny leak just poured in on my TIG machine.....REALLLY!!!!!?????!!!!!
So done with winter.
Paul

Ice dams, shoveling the roof?

No wonder people up north are crazy.

This is shoveling the roof at my house. We're up on the roof in this picture and looking at the driveway. You can tell it's a roof because of the wood stove chimney in the foreground.
