I've been wanting to build a kit for a good few years now and am getting closer to it becoming possible. I've got a 2002 Honda Accord in my driveway that just needs some new engine seals that I plan on using for a donor car. I've been interested in the Lola body kit from Kinetic Engineering for a good while, but would like to be able to drive it on rainy days too.

Here's my question (I've looked a bit through the forum, but haven't seen quite what I'm looking for). Is there anyone who has used an Accord as a donor car and posted their difficulties and progress, etc? Also, I'd like to put a ragtop on it like I had on my old MGB. I figured if the MGB body isn't wide enough then I could use another British Leland windshield and ragtop frame. In theory is seems to work, but that's just theory. Any idea what car might be wide enough for this?

Also any links or info to get me started would be most excellent. Thanks! I look forward to picking some brains and sharing what I learn.

As far as body width goes, our Lola-ish body is already wider than the real LolaMk1 by about four inches (embarrasingly enough, I forget the exact) but it's set up to be widenable without great difficulty. However, it's pretty tiny in the back, and I trust you're not thinking of making a front wheel drive Lola replica...perhaps a different body would be more appropriateif you're going to make a middy.
