Nice. But, you might you might want to add a little to the posterior. Give some room for a little crush. Or a fuel cell,

I noticed you have a flat windscreen in the renderings.

Actually the windscreen is from a MGA. A slight curve to the windscreen and the right curve along the bottom of the screen to match the body...actually I matched the body to the bottom of the screen. Cheap and plentiful!

That's a nice solution. If you ever want a coupe, the design should be able to accept the coupe glass with little work. The curve at the ends helps with the buffeting.

These are some concept sketches that were in the notebook of the original owner of my Rotus. I like how the full body version keeps some 7 essence...

Looks like the artist name is Lincoln. Neat stuff.

Thanks for sharing. Those look great. Pretty much all composite.

Yes, thanks for posting these.

I like the rear view of the full bodied Rotus. It's very nice.

The part I'll call the rear fairing, is an interesting idea. That's especially true if you combine it with the Targa top. Also, if you had side curtains, and made the Targa top compatible with those, you'd have a pretty nice all-weather setup assuming a plexi rear window (like the drawing) that could be put into place as well.

Running with just the Targa piece and no rear plex in place would give good protection from the sun in summer with lots of ventilation for the heat from the sides. Buffeting of the occupants would be reduced quite a bit, I'd imagine.

Cheers,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.

I like your design. When I was making my body I wanted to keep the hood as low as possible. I ended up needing a bulge to allow enough clearance for the SBC/LS engines I wanted to use.

A full-bodied Rotus does in fact exist! The car is 13B Turbo powered and the information I have is the body was built by a husband and wife pair of engineers from New York State. The design is apparently inspired by the Scaled Composite construction used by Burt Rutan on the Long EZ aircraft kit.

Save for the nose section under the headlights, I find the body quite likable. I've not see the car in person, but I wonder if the midrift might want some tweaks. That lower section of the nose deserves a fresh try with an eye towards basic modern aerodynamics. These cars have a great deal or room to pass air for the purpose of lowering drag and creating low pressure in desirable locations.

I've compared notes with the owner; as I under the skin the car appears to be very similar to my own Rotus 13B Turbo. I believe the car is for sale.
