Has anyone used a GM / Chevrolet fuel pump sending unit on their kit car? Does anyone know the optimal tank height for one of them? They seem pretty cheap and right off the bat look like they would package well. Even OEM ones are only $100 and they are used on a broad range of chevy vehicles.

The only one I've seen came out of a truck and was maybe a foot tall. Some car tanks would require a much shorter one.

You might try going by your local GM dealer's parts department and asking if they'll let you look at what they have on the shelf.

If you use one be sure it is easy to replace.
They fail regularly at 3 - 5 years.
In the PU they run around $100 - $180 for the pump, and $500 - $700 labor!
I've replace two very recently, not fun.

That's what I used on my 3rd build. I shortened it by about 3" so that it fit in my fabbed up tank. log.download/file.php?id=50923
