The car has been a blast to drive and for the most part has been very reliable. I do have some winter plans:
1) engine oil leaks - this engine leaks oil like a sieve. Plan is to replace the oil pan, cam cover, front and rear main seals, and cam seals. I did a compression check and I wont mess with the head gasket at this time.
2) brake rotors - I am stepping up to the 1.8 front brake rotors which are slightly larger. I already have the brackets and already received the new rotors. I am keeping the 1.6 rear brakes but will put on new rotors the same time I put on the 1.8 front rotors. I want to rebuild the calipers but this may take a back seat as my current ones work just fine. Currently, no matter how I adjust the brake bias, the rear locks up before the fronts.
3) Paint - I have already stripped the car down to the frame to send it off for paint at the local community college. Paint color will be Jaguar Velocity blue.
4) Roll bar - my current roll bar is set for SCCA height broomstick test with me with helmet on. I always thought it looked odd with how tall it is. I have a new roll bar main hoop bent that will be a lower hoop.
5) wiring harness - with all the electrical gremlins worked out on the wiring harness and lessons learned, I want to take this harness and build a new one with far fewer splices and simpler.
6) Megasquirt MS3X - another reason for the new wiring harness is I just built a MS3X for the car and it has its own wiring harness for running the engine. Eventually this will be utilized for a turbo set up, but I don't see myself getting that done this winter so the MS3X will be mapped for normally aspirated for now.
7) fenders - I haven't gotten around to fenders yet, but with the new paint, I really need to wrap those up. I have the fenders and will be doing four wheel cycle fenders.
New Dash panel - my original dash was a piece of marine plastic that I cut down. It has cracked in a few places and due to changes I have made, there are unused holes. I plan to replace it with a piece of steel welded in.
I have already stripped the car and pulled the engine
