They have been a huge help while working with limited space.

Speaking of moving dollies, anyone from the Ann Arbor area on the forums?

We're moving that way this summer. Currently trying to sell the condo here in southeast Ohio, and applying to jobs up that way. My goal is to have the chassis painted before we move, that might not be very realistic though.

Mike I looked through your build log and don't see it anywhere... what engine/trans are you using? Doesn't look like a Miata

Oh good call, not sure if I mentioned it or not. The engine is a ka24e from a nissan hardbody truck. Plan is to give it some boost and run in e-mod if I ever get it done. Arguably a boat anchor of a powerplant but whatever, I'm going with it for now.

Picked up some more tubing this week, planning to stick some more tubes in over the weekend.

Ah thanks Mike, I knew it wasn't a Miata engine and didn't recognize it. The 2.4L should be pretty torquey, which has its advantages for AX.

It's been a long time since I've looked at much of anything Nissan, but would a SR20 be compatible as an upgrade down the road, if the KA24 becomes a limiter?

You bet! I think it will be okay for autocross as well. Especially with a small turbo to build boost low in the rev range. We'll see how it goes. We're a ways out from running anyway.

The SR would be a pretty bolt in upgrade, however they're pretty expensive. It might be more better hp/dollar value to go with a KA24DE and add a turbo, or consider some aluminum block options.

This KA24E engine and trans was given to me by a friend, so the price was right. I know it runs, so if nothing else it's something to get the project running and driving I guess.

I'm sorry to hear that. You were doing some great work.

Make sure to post it to the "For Sale" part of this forum. I'm sure you will find a buyer for it.

Hope to see you again here in the future.

Best of luck,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.
