Just means I can learn from all the experience here, as my own build progresses, eventually.

... The other day I realized I was wearing a shirt older than any of my HS seniors  .. funny how the calendar just keeps advancing.. not a bad thing, but the passing years never seem to match my always behind the times brain..

btw- Happy Birthday

No, no work on the GT yet. But I have been thinking about it. I had been looking at electric windows. There are the cheap eBy ones that are, from reading reviews, a real cr@p shoot. And then there are the expensive Moss Motors ones. Looking into the inter-web for what others have done, I ran across one chap who used Range Rover (P38) window motor that supposedly meshes perfectly with the MGB gear. He says he's been running that for 25 years. Good enough for me. So off I go on ebay and I get sidetracked to find a '99 Merc Cougar window motor that looks pretty much just like the Range Rover. So, for $12 delivered I now have a test mule for power windows. Maybe in a year or two I'll actually get to see how it fits in the door. Space for motors in the shallow door is at a premium.

I also picked up the makings for sun visors. The actual inner foam is leaving dust all over the place and the vinyl is kind of ratty. These seem to be made of gold as new ones sell for outrageous money (IMO). Nice used ones go for not much less. I might just use the mechanical bits and cut some tinted plexi. Then I ran into a steal on eBay and now have another set, sans inner pivots, on the way here. Maybe they will be a bit better.

I was hoping to get the GT off the rotisserie to fit the auto trans and make the necessary clearance in the tunnel/floorboards around Christmas time. Not sure my help will be available for that. If so. I'll post some pics.

There is a mechanical fuse of plastic between the output gear and the intermediate gear. This plastic is wax-like and crumbles from age. Slightly older motors were all metal with a bolt-on cover around the output so you could replace the fuse material.
