You can build the most awesome thing in the world but at some point, an 80yr old man in a crx is probably going kick your butt on the track... don't ask me how I know.

The red swoopy machine in the very opening seconds looks like "Seven13BT" in here, aka Ron. I think he's repainted it now, but his Se7en was red like that.

Don't recognize the car at the 1:00 mark, but yes, it does look like it might be a locost.

The Jeep belongs to Jim Murphy of ATL Region. It was created by Mr. D-Mod himself, Del Long. There's a highly modified circle track chassis under there with Chebby power. 2.0 Liter four banger, iffen I remember right. It's a beastie, too...

My red version looked very similar to this one (in 1990), but this vid is from 2015 I believe. The red car is the Ellerby's Westfield. The green car is a Del Long creation that is owned by Bryan Packingham and is being driven in the video by Leah Julich (she took home the 2nd place trophy in DML).

The Ellerby's Westfield D Mod seven powered by a 1.4L turbo Ecotec heavily modified by Sprinto (Del Long). The Jeep is the J-1 E Mod driven by Steve Brueck, another Sprinto creation powered by 2.0L turbo Ecotec, I believe. Del Long will be running his D Mod J-2 jeep this year powered by a 1.4L turbo Ecotec. I'm not sure who is codriving but it might be Jeff Cashmore. I'm working on an Ecotec 1.4L turbo also to run D Mod.

See a pattern here?

A big digress but I could never understand why the SCCA has separate classes for ladies.

I think it is to get/keep ladies interested in the sport. Not many women race on there own, most do it with their husbands/boyfriends and Children. Giving them a separate class helps to get more women racing, which keeps everyone happy.

Compare the lap times of the Open class winners with the Ladies class winner and you will see why.

The point of my year-old post was that unlike more physical sports, women can compete toe-to-toe as equals. Disappointing how "equal" things really never are.
