Good news......ICBC has agreed to cut a cheque.….good thing as I've already started repairs.

So what started as some moderate body damage repair, has turned into a complete respray.

Plus, I plan to do a color change.....always liked the 'Prisoner' colors (BRG, Yellow)..so I'll probably go that route.

This is my first attempt at a complete respray, so much learning ahead of me.

Stay tuned.

It does indeed look good. And, that's the lowest, low cost spray booth I've ever seen - green poly tarps. Gotta be a little dark though. Still, "the proof is in the pudding" and the pudding must be pretty good 'cause it made it to the dining table.

Now to wait a few days for paint to cure...then cut/polish, and reassemble.

Overall, the experience was pretty satisfying. It's a heck of a learning curve but I've got a real good paint shop close by who were very helpful (and patient).

And the bonus is that I now own a compressor, two HVLP paint guns, and a Makita paint polisher (all used once).

Very nice. Did the insurance check cover the tools as well? If so, that's a decent deal. I noticed a powerfist logo in one of the pictures, then remembered you're from Canada too. I did my car with a similar booth, vapour barrier stapled to the unfinished ceiling of the garage around my car. Almost looked like a scene from the tv show Dexter.

The insurance payout covered about half the cost of respray. Can't believe how costly automotive paint can be.
