I would like to gauge interest in another gathering this spring. I tried to host one in 2019, but am sorry I wasn't able to due to complications with the birth of my son in late 2018 that kept me from doing the prep work. Fortunately things have settled down on that front. I know why we didn't hold one last year and for good reason but what does everyone think about this year? I expect many will have cabin fever and be ready to get out and about by May. We can keep 6 ft between our cars right?

Chime in if you are interested so I can get group rates at the hotel. I also have a few local car clubs that are interested in joining us including the Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club, http://www.gobmc.org and two of those members have original Lotus 7s.

I have local contacts who work at the Ozarks International Raceway, and will continue trying to get us access. They are still saying no, but I will keep on them. If we get a big enough group together we may be able to persuade them if we sell it as a good marketing event for the track.

I am still finalizing a few details, like lunch on Friday will be changing from Captain Ron's to Franky & Louie's, but they are close to each other.

I have been doing the prep work and this is what I have ready so far. As we know with cruises, things change so the time's are approximate and I allowed time and places to gather and wait for stragglers. Being a boating area, there are plenty of refueling options for ethanol free gas.

Looks like quite a trip. I need to check with SWMBO before I can commit for certain, but I'm pretty sure we can make it.

I will have to see how everything goes with this Covid. WI is such a "hot mess" that we cannot seem to even get an ETA of when we will get a vaccine!

Even if I had my 'intended' in the garage, that would likely be too soon to have a running legal vehicle.
Maybe next year...

Jamador you don't have to have a running Locost to come to these Gatherings. It is a great time to learn things too. You may even get to ride along in someone else's car. Russ

Fair point.
Hoping to have a Locost in the garage by then, but it'll be a project in the making. Spare budget will be going into getting it running/driving & legal.

As Russ said we may have open seats in sevens. As we get closer we will find out who is running solo and has an open seat for someone to claim. I probably will for at least one day as I dont think my wife will want to go both Friday and Saturday if at all.

Lana and I plan to be there if we get our covid shots in time. We are supposed to be in the second group but only the health workers have had shots so far.

Would love to participate. However I would have to trailer the Locost and I live 1400 miles away now. Not sure I'm up to that these days.

Be sure to post updates with photos!

Cheers!

We have hit critical mass. I had a minimum of ten to move forward with the gathering and we are now there. I do not expect to move the date. Watch this thread for final details on the hotel. I have made minor changes to the Friday cruise route but will post new maps once I finalize the Saturday route. I will be checking the Saturday route in next couple of weeks.

For those that have told me they are coming, please check the first post of the thread to confirm I have you listed and the number of attendees. If you only plan to attend a portion of the weekend, please let me know so I can let the restaurants know.

Chris, Linda and I are tentative attendees. If I can get a '79 MGB in road-trip condition by then we'll bring that. If we bring our Ford Escape, we can be an additional support vehicle. We were hesitant at first due to the obvious. As it is now, we will both have had our vaccinations by the end of March. Do you need a drop dead decision date? I look forward to seeing some old friends and making new ones.

Glad to hear you might be able to join us. We are looking forward to it. I will have a drop dead date for hotel reservations once i speak to the hotel and will post it here. For the restaurants I want to have a firm number by April 16th.
