jordway,

Glad you can join us. Jefferson City is a smaller town, shouldn't have any issues with parking the car overnight. many of the others park the cars overnight without issues.

I also sent you a PM.

Jordway, you will be more than welcome to join us. I'm the one who posted the notice on USA'7s. As for the removable steering wheel, just remember where you put it. :ack: Long story. I'll tell you when I see you as the guilty party may not want everyone to know. Russ

Looking at the map & pre-planning for hopefully attending next year.
12 hr drive from Houston. May have to look at trailering the Midge up there, we'll see how she's running when the '24 event gets closer.

We are about two months out. I did a scouting trip last weekend for what will be our Saturday drive and overall I am pleased. I did run into a small section of roadworks, but only about 5 miles but it is supposed to be complete by the time of the gathering. I will come up with an alternate route if there are delays and check it shortly before the gathering.

Based on our responses our car count is up to 10 with another 3 maybes. More to come as closer I am sure. I am sure I will get some of the locals to sign up as we get closer. I will try to get some video up of some of my scouting drives if I can get my camera to work properly.

We are about amonth out. Make sure to let me know if you are coming if you haven't yet. I have some great roads already scouted. I have a couple of road works to check on but we should be OK. I can't wait to see everyone. Make sure to let me know what days you will be joining us for lunch and dinner so I can let the restaurants know.

Only 11 days away. I will be sending a email shortly to those that have let me know they are coming so if you don't receive it, I don't have you on my list. We have some great roads picked out.

Wow, what an event Chris put on. He had 3 Locosts, 3 very fast Goblins, 1 Stalker, 1 Caterham, 1 Jag XKE, 1 Corvette, and 1 diesel Rabbit/Golf that drove faster than I could drive. We drove several hundred miles on some very nice roads. We ate a lot of delicious food. And had a great time talking shop. Thank you again, Chris, for a wonderful time. Russ

Thanks to all who helped! First, to Chris for all his hard work to put this Gathering together. Second to Justin and Katie for there gracious assistance in getting us home after the car became questionable. It was also great to see old friends again and to make some new ones.

As for the car, I haven't really had time to dig into it. I' hoping that the strange noises were just due to running it too hard and too long. The little I have driven it ( just on and off trailers) it shows no problems. I plan tomake a few cautious drives and see if anything presents itself.

Again thanks to all who made this an unforgettable weekend.

Bill

What an awesome time! Thanks again, Chris, for organizing a great gathering and for plotting such fun routes on great roads with no unwanted surprises. Thanks, Dale, for spending some time with me and my car early Fri morning. That's exactly what a relative newbie like me needs. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I dare say that was the most fun I've had yet in the Caterham. I will be sure to keep my eyes open for future gatherings. And, I've added to Russ' comments on usa7s.net. Once I get a chance to upload the video to youtube, I will send out a link.

Hope to see you all again soon!
Jared

Thank you everyone for coming. Hopefully Justin gets us some videos and photos that he took, but given he still hasn't edited the videos from last year's gathering I wont hold my breath. It was great to see everyone again and other than pushing Bill's car a bit too hard we didn't have any car issues. The rain threatened but thankfully stayed away.

I look forward to seeing everyone at next year's gathering.
