Ah, alright. You'd connect it across the LED, top side of my diagram going to red(positive)/Key-on power and bottom side going to the black/ECM connection. This shouldn't cause any dimming, since the resistor is across the LED and won't limit power to it. It's similar to stuffing a regular 194 dash bulb across it, but it doesn't light up and the cap should smooth out any pulsing/dimming stuff and keep the flicker down. If it doesn't fix the flicker/fault code, then you may need to add another 1K resistor across the one shown. No worries as far as understanding, electrical stuff can take a certain kind of crazy to deal with. I sometimes wish I could bottle and sell my excess off. I'd make a mint. |

Out! Out! Damn Flicker! I guess if you stare at the puzzle long enough, and try enough different combinations, eventually it might work itself out, which is exactly how I came to eliminate my CEL's flicker issue.. As was stated, it simply took a bit of trial and error.. I tried all sorts of combos until I stumbled upon simply wiring in (1) 1K resistor across the LED, and viola! Done and done- no more flicker Don't know exactly the why, but I like the result- the LED is super bright when it's on, and off completely at all other times- woo hoo.. Now to go chase down some other sorting issues.. Thanks for the collective wisdom- always, always appreciated --ccrunner |
