You guys have not failed me yet. I am looking for first-hand experience with the above-mentioned panel switches. Is the On-Off switch a momentary contact rocker, or does it stay/latch in the on and off position?

I am contemplating buying this switch to control my GM cruise module. That module is from a 97 Malibu but is used on many GM vehicles. in the 90's. I know the set/coast and the Resume/Accel functions will work. the GM module does not use a momentary contact fro thring the system on. It must be on continuously.

Exhaustive internet search does not find this much needed, detailed info.

I installed one around 15 years ago. The control looks slightly different but same config.

All the buttons on mine are momentary. I think they make them rockers so you don't FAT finger two at the same time.

I added a long, large pvc tube between the strut towers attached to a tube tower brace I made for the car (big improvement) with glued caps and check valves to boost the vacuum available since I was installing it on a ford aspire with 63 wild stallions for long trips. Worked well.

Why not a push button on/off and separate momentary push buttons for accel and decel?

They have a universal stalk type that will work for you:

MV8, that is what I thought it was. Thanks. It appears from the pictures that the default position of the on/off switch is center located. After seeing pics of that switch panel, and looking at the GM schematics, I realized I could use a single momentary SPDT rocker to resume and set. I would up-pay for the Rostra panel if it worked because it has the 2 LEDs and is a nice complete package. I have a technical inquiry to Rostra about this too. Not seen an answer yet. I expect they won't reply or give me info I'm looking for. I may have to roll my own. I know a little bit more about the panel now and can build from scratch if necessary.

I like this one. I've used it as a start switch. A few of these would look right at home in an mgb GT.

Actually, I bought this one too and this is the one I used. No, I don't believe the specs.

MV8, Nice looking switches, even if they aren't 30A. I too am hesitant on the ebay no-name switch ratings. I want DPDT rockers for my power windows. I'm not sure if I'll rely on the switches alone for current capacity or add relays.

For the cruise, I ended up buying the below switches. The power switch is latching, the other two for set and resume are momentary. The power-switch backlight will light up with the power switch latched on. The other two backlights will both light up when the cruise is active. I read somewhere if both set and resume are pushed simultaneously, then the GM cruise will deactivate as if the brake had been activated. It will still hold the speed in memory. I never heard of that. That possibility changed my thoughts from a momentary rocker to the individual switches. Time will tell if my cruise module supports that function.

I'll call this inquiry complete!
