RE: compliant joints on a 4 link
It seems a minimum of 2 would needed to be used to provide symmetry (equal response turning R or L).
Link symmetry does not provide load symmetry, because the forces in a live axle are not symmetric.
Regarding rod end NVH, theoretically the injection-molded nylon-based-race rod ends should provide some improvement over standard Teflon lined. Somebody who has used both (Jack?) might have some insight on whether they've ever been able to feel a discernable difference between the two. Taking it a step further are the off-road 'johnny joint' type rod ends that are effectively a spherical mounted in a polyurethane bushing/race, although the cost with these goes up accordingly.
