MGB based "Speedster" windshield, anybody done one?

Thought I had seen an MGB windshield modified for a "Speedster" look.
Of course now I cannot find the pic.
Seems MGB glass should work for my Dio Tipo build*, but I do not like the heavy upper frame.
Thinking to cut down the post but leave the glass full size.
But I am uncertain if the glass will survive for long without the upper frame?
MGB used a tension rod at the middle of the frame.

*Not my ideal but for this build I need to keep cost in check.

I am contemplating Lexan with a stick on coating of clear wrapping material. Plexi might work as well.

Call a local glass shop. they can cut down a B windscreen.

I don't know much about cutting down windshields. Off the top of my head, I would think the 2 pieces of glass might have a tendency to delaminate due to the wind stresses without something supporting them like a piece of u-channel. On the other hand, Jack's Locost windshield design doesn't use one on the bottom. He does have a lower shape in the scuttle I think to support any rearward pressure. Of course, the bottom of a locost windshield is in a low pressure area. It is commonly used. Does anyone here have that problem?

The good news is that B glass is still fairly cheap and I have a complete spare frame to experiment with.
I think the curve would go a long way to prevent flex.
Only the top edge will lose its frame.
I did find a couple of pics of cut-down glass on another site.
Still no luck finding a cut down frame with full height glass.
If I do not like it I will see about getting the glass cut down too.

I don't know if this adds much, but as I remember it, the tension rod on the B was to benefit the clamping of the soft top without distorting the upper windshield frame. It wasn't related to the glass.

Finally got some time to work on this.
Compared the stock B glass height with the plexiglass that came with the kit.
Very nearly identical!
So my hope is to not have to actually cut the glass at all.

Removed the B top bar and one post.
As expected, a nicely rounder upper corner on the glass.
Without the top bar the side post may spring apart a bit so rigid mounting to the scuttle will be critical.
I am going to trim a post, removing the top inward curve and the no longer needed flange where the side-glass rubber fit.
This should give the post a thinner and lighter appearance.
Also trimming the remaining upper corner to a radius.
This may be sufficient for my need, if not I will cut the post shorter.
It seems the post may be hollow, is that correct?

Should be able to have some pics in the morning.
