Got a nice set of R1 shocks in the mail today courtesy of LOCOST 5.0 , thany you very much.

I'm going to modify my upper a-arm on the rear this weekend, and brainstorm the best way to mount the shocks, I'm thinking I should lean from my mistake with the rear a-arms and design in some adjustment.

so i'm going to do a pushrod/bellcrank setup, making use of the R1 bellcrank for the time being, but drawing up replacement unit in CAD to be cut out by waterjet/laser

once I got something to show you I'll post some mor pics

got my upper a-arms cut down by 1/2" camber was corrected perfectly
next time I'm building in a little adjustment.

I've even been considering using hiems on all the joints in my front suspension, I probably won't but I am thinking trhough the gains and losses in such a design change. might make for a little cleaner look, btu I'm thinking it'll make for more headaches.

I got the front MN12 knuckle out of the derusting goo today here are the measurements.
locostv8 wrote:I will try to shortly do a more elegant job of representing but I wanted to post the dimensions of the 89 to 92 Tbird MN12 spindle. The first thing that must be done is to cut off the top part of the spindle down to the sway bar mount. Bolt pattern 5 on 4.25 with MN12 parts, can be changed to 5 on 4.5 by bolting on SN95 (Mustang GT) hub and rotor. A fair amount of weight can be saved by cutting off caliper mounts and using 99 to 04 SN95 PBR aluminum 2 piston calipers with the lower hole for the dust plate bored out it appears to be in the correct position for 1 caliper adapter bolts, the other will have to be a fabbed part.

Height 8"
Spindle center 2" above lower BJ
KPI 9 deg
WMS to lower BJ 3.25
Spindle leads KP .75
lower BJ mount 1.1"
Upper BJ mount .75" both 10 deg drop from spindle angle
Steer arm 5" hole leads BJ .75" above BJ .25"

I hope nobody is waiting on me, cuse this project is being pushed aside for 2 months to finish another.

If you need some basic dimensions and info to continue with your build, PM me and I'll get you what you need. at least as far as the rear suspension. I've got a bunch of parts on order for the front, but they will remain boxed untill I finish my other project.

Revving a dead horse.

Violent Blue, Did you ever get those numbers finished, discussed earlier in this thread?

Thanks.

I've got the basic numbers for my chassis, you'd have to figure out fabrication on your own though.

The basic numbers would be great. I'm using the Chriss Gibbs frame, so I'll need to design something new anyway. I'm modeling the car in SolidWorks, to visualize everything.

Thanks.
