I am looking for build information for Nick Jenkins’ M.G. donor based build. It seems to be well documented, but I am finding that the angles specified don’t work out when creating a model in Fusion 360. I have owned in the distant past a MGB, an MG Midget, a Triumph Spitfire and a TR4 IRS. But I have wanted a 7 since I first saw one in South Wales back in 1977. Since I have some history with British sports cars, I would like to build a Locost using an MGB or Spitfire donor. Thx much.

I guess you mean Nick47. I don't think he used cad. It says it is a book build meaning Champion's Book.

I believe that McSorely's plans are done in cad. Possibly the files are available on his site. I believe Nick47 used the McSorely "book" sized plans, not any of the other McSorely stretched variations. As is already known "the book" is the Ron Champion book that started this whole movement. It is known to have a few errors and certainly not include some improvements such as "the Aussie mods".

I think GoNavy and I have already connected on FB. I can barely remember the details of my own build, but it’s definitely a book frame. I relied pretty heavily on Jim McSorley’s original dimensions and angles, which is why I gave him the mention. I did nothing in CAD, unless you count PowerPoint, which you’re free to do but I don’t. I still have all of those drawn-up plans somewhere, although I doubt anyone but me could read them.

BTW, I’ve put over 60K miles on the car in the last 10 years and still drive it at least once a week, even if only to the grocery store. It’s been through a lot but it’s never stopped being a blast to drive. So glad I kept it simple and all British.

GoNavy, just a bit of context. The book frame dimensions and angles are "in the ballpark", but not perfect.
Trial fit tubes as you go and adjust to fit with a grinder or sanding disc.

Put some good measurement lines on your build table and become a certified gap welder and you're golden.
