Yes, to model many iterations can be a nuisance. There are things you can do such as paper modeling or clay type products you can prototype with first to figure out what works. There are also affordable CAD programs available, such as Platsticity, with many youtube tutorials available so you can learn to do CAD work yourself.

We have a bunch of 3D printers at work, for me the CAD is the issue.
I may make the housings out of PVC plumbing fittings, or even from metal pipe as well, will see when I get there.
Now I'm making the brake and fuel lines.


That's kinda like what I was planning with my car, 2 round lights per side in round pods, likely from large PVC or ABS pipe.
