GOOD NEWS!

I got through to a human at our hosting company and resolved the bandwidth issue and secured a larger-bandwidth hosting plan.

Additionally, I've hired a web developer to upgrade our long-overdue forum software, so look for bigger and better things moving ahead.

In the short-term, I've turned off in-line image attachments in posts. FEAR NOT!!! The images are 100% intact. Any logged-in user will get a link to view images. Guests (not logged in) cannot see images. This is not a permanent fix, but will keep everyone happy until our site is upgraded and we can more effectively manage the server and bandwidth load our site and users generate.

Thanks for your patience, everyone. You're the best!

-dave

You are awesome, @B85 . I appreciate it, and we may have a fundraiser, but not until all the dust is settled and the site is upgraded. Gotta put the carrot in front of the cart.

Thanks Dave. Such things are the cost of a successful website, I guess. Please let us know how we can share the cost burden. It is great that you have been doing this gratis, but it is time we all pitch in, me thinks.

This is awesome. Also, even though I haven't even started collecting parts, I'm happy to make a donation. This community is certainly worth it.

When I saw "Account suspended" my first thought was - What the H, this is not Twitter or Face Book!

Echoing everyone else, I'd love to contribute money towards site stability.

Thank you for keeping it afloat!

Thanks again Dave, good strategy on lightweighting the forum. Will contribute when required as this site is a keeper.

I concur with everyone, just say the word when you need donations.

Don't know why but this site has become part of my life, and no, don't say "go get a life!", I'm over half ways through this one and don't have the energy or drive to get another one

Yes, thanks, Dave for the website rescue. I'll be looking forward to the upgrade too.

Cheers,

For anyone curious, we're serving about 5 GB/day of traffic. Seems high for a small, non-video site.
