It's weird that the video is so recent, as I remember seeing that car several years ago. I thought it looked awesome, but that the drivetrain doesn't fit its "look." I'd vote for either a bike engine to underscore the F1 aspect of it, or something like a Dodge straight-6 to fit the hot rod aspect of it. To me, an S2000 drivetrain introduces a uninvited third facet of a two-sided problem. We shall not discuss how useful the rear "wings" are with that square cab immediately ahead. Oh well, to each their own.

Casey Putsch of Genius Garage did an F1 hot rod, for a client.
IIRC, he got an early 90s Indy chassis, restyled the aero to be more F1 relevant, and put a Hayabusa engine from a Radical in it.
Never did see it driving, as he passed it off to the owner for the finish work.

It makes me want to modify my project (almost)! It is really cool. I think the ergonomics could have been improved and still kept the theme.

When I got out of high school, before I went into the military, I worked for a Pontiac dealer. One of the young guys in the body shop had a model T roadster hot rod with a Chevy 350/T350.

This car reminds me of that car.

It was one of the most exciting/scary cars I have ever driven. It steered terribly, locked up the brakes if you pressed hard on the pedal and it would hardly track straight down the road. But it just had that "cool" factor to it!

Considering I was driving a 69 MG Midget at the time (1970), it was not about small- more about "different".

I have an ex-gf that fits that description. My ex-wife is cool, and my current wife is wonderful, but I made numerous bad decisions between those too.

I can appreciate it as a work of kinetic* art... but only for as long as I can manage to keep my brain turned off. I'm glad it brings him joy, and other people smiles.

Hoo boy, people get that confused all the time. The folks that went to a kinetic sculpture race tell me ALL THE DANG TIME I shouldn't be allowed to use that word. Crimeny, people, kinetic sculptures are sculptures that MOVE, not vehicles you PEDAL.

(That said, it would be fun to make a pedal car Locost and enter one of these things.)
