I'm using steel sheet metal at the lower part stitch welded, and I will seem seal it, and an aluminum at the top.

.062" steel sheet for floor, behind seats, tunnel, and firewall, all stitched and seam sealed.

Research welding galvanized steel, nasty fumes can lead to metal fume fever :ack:

For everything else I will be using aluminum. 0.90 for the floor, .050 hood/scuttle/dash and .040 for the rest.

As in small aircraft, stainless is recommended for anyplace that fire could occur, since aluminum melts rather easily. Granted, the amount of time the firewall might be exposed to flame is much shorter than in an aircraft, but I figured why not go with the better protecting material.

i used to weld galvanized for a living. - its true that you dont want to breathe the fumes, but i doesnt do any permanent damage. All you need to prevent the fever is a bit of ventilation. it does give porosity and spatter, you wouldnt want to TIG weld it.

I used A single cut sheet of stainless for the floor, and 16 gauge aluminum for the tunnel. Firewall is webbed 16gauge plasma cut steel with 16ga aluminum face. cabin Backing plate is also 16ga aluminum. Floorboard and cabin back along with some under body forward panels are attached with 3M Panel bond. Side trans tunnel covers are riveted, and top will be removable
