70 mpg is about what a 250cc scooter or motorcycle is capable of, unstreamlined and before changing the final gearing for the reduction in drag. I have seen a few diesel bike conversions too.

While you sadly weren't mentioned, The Colbert Report brought up escape from Berkley!

I'm trying to find when he talks about it, I'll update.

Jack

What tires are you using on your car? I know they make special tires for hybrids and other high mileage vehicle. Rolling resistance may also be a big factor in your mileage.

Wasn't Smokey Joe and his Tongue-Powered Roadster on Jack's B-Team? ;-)

The big newspaper in our county covered our homecoming weenie roast, plus put video on their web site. So if you want to see me dressed like Patric McGoohan (and Dave Levison assuring all that it wasn't a race, "that would be illegal") click on...

This is the one that came out Sunday:

And here are a couple of photos. The latter link is in a slide show of all the competitors (those that started, at least). It starts in the beginning since only a couple shots have locost content, but it's worth clicking through. A street legal flaming snail may be off topic, but hey, how often do you see them out here in the sticks:

Wow! Just Wow!

If you have any way to link or show those article without a NY Times paywall that would be great.

Otherwise I'm going to the library tomorrow!

Thanks!

If you are using Microsoft "Edge", try opening an "InPrivate" window. It works for me.
